Sarah earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Baylor University in 2009 and a Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Georgia Southern University in 2013. She is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Texas and a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.
Sarah has experience evaluating and treating a wide variety of communication disorders, but specializes in working with children who have social communication deficits, executive function challenges, receptive and expressive language disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, and fluency disorders. She has a passion for working with children of all ages and backgrounds, with a heavy emphasis on elementary age children.
Sarah enjoys incorporating sensory and motor based activities into the learning process, along with thematic units. She works to build trust with the children and families she serves. Sarah enjoys supporting parents and teachers with accommodations and implementing individualized, realistic strategies for home and school. Before joining The Housson Center team, Sarah has worked as an elementary school speech therapist in Plano ISD and Richardson ISD, a home health care setting, and served as the Clinic Director for a Dallas based non-profit.
When she is not working, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband, young daughter, and dachshunds, Hans and Gertrude. Some of her hobbies include traveling, cooking, learning to play golf, and cheering on the Baylor Bears!
