Matt is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) supervised by Misty Solt, PhD, LPC-S, RPT-S, CCPT-S, CPRT-S. He graduated from Southern Methodist University with his Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in children and adolescents. He received his Bachelors of Science degree from Colorado State University in Psychology with an emphasis in Clinical Counseling. Matt brings over years of valuable experience in the field such as serving as President on the SMU Play Therapy Board and Lead Patient Care Assistant at a children’s mental health hospital, along with a history of coaching competitive soccer and volunteering at kid’s clubs for at risk youth across North America.
Matt employs evidence-based and personalized approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), Child-Parents Relationship Training (CPRT), and Solution Focused Therapy to address a variety of emotional and behavioral challenges. He enjoys working with children, adolescents, and young adults, effectively assisting them with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, ADHD, parent-child conflict, and emotional control. Matt is passionate about helping clients develop new ways of thinking and coping strategies to achieve their therapeutic goals.
Matt is a Dallas native, relocated to Colorado before middle school but has since made his way back. He and his fiancé love to travel and get out to Colorado as often as they can. In his free time, Matt enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing golf, and watching all sports – especially his beloved Dallas Cowboys. He believes that maintaining a healthy balance is essential for a fulfilling life.
