Mari Ordonez is a dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor with extensive experience in supporting children, teens, and families. She holds a Master of Science in Counseling with a specialization in Children and Adolescents from Southern Methodist University, and both her Bachelor’s degrees in Child Learning Development and Psychology from The University of Dallas.
For the past five years, Mari has worked as a school therapist, gaining significant experience with high-need populations. She has developed expertise in addressing a wide range of issues including autism spectrum disorders, anxiety, mood disorders, low confidence, learning disabilities, non-verbal communication challenges, trauma, adoption, and divorce.
Mari’s role has involved creating and implementing a social and emotional wellness curriculum, conducting group, individual, and family therapy, providing parent training, assisting in classroom intervetions and more. Her work encompasses treating difficulties such as anxiety, depression, social skills deficits, ADHD, grief, trauma, social pressures, adjustment issues and more.
She employs an integrated approach to therapy, drawing on her training in developmentally appropriate play therapy and child development. Mari collaborates closely with clients to determine the most effective strategies for achieving success and supporting their unique needs.
Outside of her professional life, Mari enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters and is passionate about staying active and experiencing new adventures.
