Lauren earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from The University of Texas at Austin in 2010 and a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2012. She is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Texas and a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Lauren has experience evaluating and treating a wide range of communication disorders. She specializes in working with children who have receptive and expressive language disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, executive function challenges, and social communication deficits. She has a passion for working with children of all ages and backgrounds. Lauren values teamwork with parents, teachers, and other professionals in order to develop a personalized plan for each child, incorporating practical strategies for success at home and in school. Before joining The Housson Center team, Lauren worked at the Shelton Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic for 12 years. Before her time at Shelton, she worked as a speech therapist in Richardson ISD.
In her free time, Lauren enjoys spending time with her husband, two young children, and their family’s Husky, Izzy. Some of her hobbies include spending time at her in-laws’ lake house in Granbury, reading a good book, going to Pilates class, and cheering on the Texas Longhorns!
