Avery Clark is a Licensed Professional Counselor- Associate supervised by Eve Wiley, M.S., LPC-S. She is passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and adults as they navigate challenges, build resilience, and create meaningful change. Avery earned her Master of Science in Counseling with a concentration in trauma from Southern Methodist University. She is also a graduate of Texas Christian University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Child Development.
Avery works with children ages 7 and older, adolescents, and adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, emotion regulation difficulties, life transitions, and interpersonal relationship challenges. She is particularly passionate about trauma work and helping clients understand how past experiences can impact their thoughts, emotions, relationships, and daily functioning. Avery is certified in the Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories (RTM) Protocol and utilizes evidence-based trauma interventions to support clients in processing and healing from traumatic experiences.
Avery primarily approaches counseling through a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) lens, helping clients identify unhelpful patterns, develop effective coping strategies, and build skills for lasting growth. She also incorporates mindfulness-based techniques to increase self-awareness, emotional regulation, and resilience. Avery values partnering with parents and caregivers to support growth and reinforce skills outside of the therapy room. Her therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and supportive, grounded in the belief that healing occurs within a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship where clients feel empowered to explore, grow, and move toward their goals.
Outside of the counseling room, Avery enjoys playing mahjong, needlepointing, taking hot Pilates classes, and exploring new restaurants with family and friends.
